Approach

As architects and designers we believe that good design improves quality of life at no additional cost.

The Architectural brief evolves from close dialogue with our clients - Listening, to understand our client’s brief, is key. In the first instance they are encouraged to set out all that they may aspire to achieve by their project, rather than to start with a preconception of what they may or may not be able to afford.

These ideas are then tested against the known constraints, including: site conditions, planning and building regulations, possibly the effect on neighbours and of course budget. This is done with a series of sketches and close discussion with our clients.

Having achieved a workable concept we then work, as advocates, to work the proposals through the various regulatory, statutory approvals and the construction process, as far as possible, without compromise to our clients aspirations.

We can complement our in-house skillset with those of a team of trusted, external consultants from whom we can help the client select, according to the needs of the project.

We bring to this process values that are common to all of our projects, such as comfort, energy efficiency, natural light and ventilation and of course stimulating and appropriate architecture.

Our services and fee structures are defined, to follow the RIBA Plan of Work, but we are always happy to tailor scope of work to meet your requirements.
